Effect of N Fertilizer Dosage and Base/Topdressing Ratio on Potato Growth Characteristics and Yield

Nitrogen fertilizer is an important kinetic energy for potato production. To study the effect of nitrogen(N) application and topdressing ratio on growth yield, different N levels: N75 (75 kg ha−1), N150 (150 N225 (225 ha−1) base/topdressing ratios: T1 (2:8), T2 (5:5), T3 (8:2), T4 (10:0) were used to find best operation. The results showed that higher yields can be obtained when 120–180 ha−1 was applied under 8:2 in silt loam (sand–silt–clay: 29-50-21). base dosage largely determined root morphology, while mainly affected leaf photosystem, however, rhizosphere at early stages bud emergence did not immediately affect soluble protein sugar content. Topdressing increased tuber crude ascorbic acid content some extent, but had weak amylose/amylopectin ratio, starch influenced by total application. When low, it could compensated applying during flowering, though amount sufficient, would cause a decrease average single weight increase sets per plant, thereby reducing commercial rate. Overall, adopting suitable promote plant improve quality yield. However, relationship between specific soil texture conditions needs further study.
